The instructor would bring you to a quieter area. All our cars have dual controls for your safety. Just the same, the instructor would talk you through what to do from the start so the extra controls are seldom needed. To take driving lessons here in Britain, you need either a provisional license, full licence or a foreign license valid in the UK. A provisional license is not valid until you are 17, but you can apply for it in advance so you have it and can plan your first lesson. There is no need to pass your theory test before taking driving lessons. When you start driving however, it is good to prepare for the theory test as well. You cannot book a practical test until you have passed your theory test.
